The two day spectacle offers a true sonic adventure featuring unique talents across jazz, electronic, and improvisational genres.
On Thursday April 16th, the stellar lineup begins with jazz sensation Marc Edwards’ Slipstream Time Travel, improvisational trio of Sam Newsome, Sebastian Alexander Johnson Group, duo Ximena Bedoya and Trae Crudup, and Sam Day Harmet’s fascinating Soundpainting Collective.
The festival continues on Friday April 17th with the breathtaking jazz trio Ayumi Ishito, Daniel Carter, and Yuko Togami, followed by the exceptional trio of John King, Jess Tsang, and Jennifer Gersten, the electronic composer Sadnoise, On Ka’a Davis’ 3D Vive, and Hans Tammen’s Third Eye Festival All Star Band.
In the upstairs gallery the “Water Boatmen” installation by Hans Tammen and Zachary Dresher will be on display April 16th and 17th.
UK music magazine The Wire warmly described Rhythm in the Kitchen as a festival that brings “music and arts with a sense of purpose and community”. The HKCC is devoted to serving the community by presenting excellence in the arts.
